There have been so many stables in the history of TNA. A lot of them failed miserably while of them had a lasting legacy and that's the Main Event Mafia group. The idea behind the group was pretty simple. They put together a group of veteran performers that had been main eventers and had them band together. The group consisted of Kurt Angle, Sting, Kevin Nash, Booker T and Scott Steiner. It made sense for these veterans to work together to try to treat the younger wrestlers about respect. It made those younger guys more likable and easy to root for in the storyline. Samoa Joe also joined the group although since he was one of those younger guys it kind of hurt the whole idea of the group. That's TNA for ya. They always found a way to ruin things. When the group returned in 2013 it wasn't the same. They lost the cool factor and it was just one for those things where TNA was going crazy by having too many stables at once. The original incarnation worked. Repeats didn't work.
