10 Things To Expect From The New TV-14 WWE

4. Edgier Storytelling

Speaking of which, outside of the odd and admittedly bizarre ThunderDome detour into eye-for-an-eye occurrences and alcoholism narratives, for the most part WWE hasn't exactly been in too much of a rush to present its PG audience with the sort of programmes that either blur the line between fantasy and reality or feel entirely experimental and cutting edge in modern times.

Again, it's not too difficult to understand why the more family-friendly version of the company fans have come to expect today has often steered clear of the more shocking and provocative storytelling developments that made the WWF the hottest property in the game many moons ago.

And with the world being a very different place to the one that played host to the many D-Generation X and Ministry of Darkness Attitude Era antics of yesteryear, you can bet WWE won't be going down quite the same route as they did back in the late '90s when forging more out-there on-screen tales in the near future.

But the days of excruciatingly timid and unimaginative angles and feuds may just be coming to an end if WWE allows its writers and wrestlers to flex their more mature storytelling muscles in the TV-14 landscape.
