10 Things To Remember About WWE Survivor Series 98 Deadly Game Tournament

9. The Mystery Opponent Was...Dwayne Gill?

Vince read off a card: "This legend in the ranks of sports entertainment made his WWE debut in 1990." He said that this guy was there for six years and then he jumped ship to the "dubya see dubya" - Vince taking a shot at the competition, there. "Without further adieu, allow me to introduce to you, currently the coach of the Pasadena Chargers - the man, the myth...Dwayne Gill." There was a lot of hype over who the mystery opponent would be and then they ended up with Gill, who was known as being a jobber in WWE throughout the 1990s. If you're wondering, Mankind beat Gill in less than a minute as commentator Jim Ross complained that it wasn't very fair that Mankind received a joke opponent. Heel announce Jerry Lawler humorously put over Gill as a big star. Soon after this, WWE turned Gill into "Gillberg" which was (obviously) a parody of Goldberg in WCW. It was one of the more ridiculously fun gimmicks of the Attitude Era.
