10 Things To Remember About WWE Survivor Series 98 Deadly Game Tournament

3. The Rock Had One Of The Best Heel Turns Ever

Going into Survivor Series, The Rock was an ascending star. He was starting to get some of the biggest reactions from the crowd and despite the fact he was a heel for over a year, the fans couldn't stop themselves from cheering him because he was such a cool, charismatic guy. The Rock wrestled four matches that night. As mentioned earlier, he beat Boss Man with the quick inside cradle. Then he faced a familiar foe in Ken Shamrock and beat him by intercepting Boss Man's nightstick, which he used on Shamrock to win the match. His third match was against The Undertaker, which ended when Kane showed up and he attacked Rock with an awful-looking Chokeslam, causing the DQ. That meant The Rock was in the finals. When he got into the finals, people cheered for Rock more than Mankind, who appeared to be on the side of the evil McMahon Family. In the end, Rock turned heel to win the gold even though he had previously said he would never do something like that. The Rock was elevated from an upper midcarder to a main eventer with his performance that night. He had a lot of pressure on him but the 26-year-old delivered.
