10 Things WCW Ripped Off

9. Chyna

'Christi Wolf' would be a perfectly good name for a female wrestler, especially a whacking great bodybuilder, but for Miss Wolf's tenure at WCW it was not to be.

Not content with having their own version of the Eighth Wonder Of The World, WCW wanted to have the Ninth as well. During 1999 Chyna, the Amazonian ex-DX member, was in the Intercontinental Championship picture in the WWE and arguably at the peak of her career. So WCW repackaged their own musclebound grappler Wolf into a new Chyna.

In an example of off-ripping in its purest form, she was given the name 'Asya', because Asia is bigger than China. Even the copyright-friendly spelling was retained intact. Asya started out as a part of the Revolution stable and and her high points included an elbow drop to David Flair's groin. It wasn't all bad though, as her previous gimmick name was 'Double D' - 'Asya' must have been something of an improvement.
