When Sullivan and Nancy met in the early-80s, he was 32 and she was 21. The age difference didn't stop them from falling in love and eventually marrying in 1992, but it did creep up on them a little later when things got difficult.

Sullivan says he and Nancy were having problems at home for "around six months" before Benoit even arrived in WCW. In other words, things were on a slippery slope before Nancy and Chris even met, and Sullivan thinks the age thing had started to become an issue.

By 1996, he was spending more and more time in the Florida Keys, and Nancy was back home at the house in Daytona. They weren't exactly getting along, and he found it hard to see how they'd come out of their funk as a couple. They'd started to drift apart.

Sullivan isn't totally sure why, but cited the age difference as a possible reason.
