Despite all the troubles at home with Nancy, Kevin honestly didn't think that she'd fall in love with Chris Benoit when he booked it in storyline. He said on the pod that his intention was to blur the lines between fantasy and reality with angles like Brian Pillman's, "I respect you, booker man" line. The Benoit and Woman story was an extension of that.

The only problem was that it cost him his marriage.

Sullivan didn't see that one coming. Even now, he looks back and says there weren't as many signs as people might think that Nancy and Chris were slowly becoming an item. He viewed Benoit as a quiet, loyal dude who liked to work hard and be around a small circle of friends.

It came as a bit of shock to Kevin when Nancy and Chris got together, but he's not willing to hold it against them now. He also didn't say whether or not he regrets booking the angle in the first place, or if there's anything he could've done differently.
