Eric Bischoff has hinted before on his '83 Weeks' podcast that his management of WCW was at the mercy of Turner Broadcasting and suits working at the CNN Center in Atlanta. There, most executives turned their nose up at the wrestling division and couldn't understand why Ted Turner kept such a money pit around.

A 'money pit' that was raking in millions upon millions of dollars by 1998.

Despite that success, WCW still had to be frugal with certain things. This is evident in the script when Bischoff and Hollywood Hogan come out for an in-ring interview talking about Warrior's antics. The description literally says, "Needs nWo Voodoo Chile music for intro and nWo for exit".

In other words, WCW could only play the Jimi Hendrix track once for Hogan. Maybe this was a production choice, maybe it wasn't, but it seems plausible that the company were paying for each use of 'Voodoo Chile' and didn't want to incur unnecessary expenses.
