10 Things We Learned From Brodie Lee On Talk Is Jericho

7. WWE Offered Him A Raise To Stay At Home

Why WWE Just Released Luke Harper THUMB

WWE's desire to stockpile talent so nobody else can get hands on them has left many spinning their wheels in recent years. Big Brodie Lee was one of those left exasperated by a promotion that wouldn't tear up his contract or use him on TV. That left the guy rotting at home with literally nothing to do.

He was stunned that WWE kept offering new deals for more money right up until his contract expired on 8 December 2019. Think about that: Vince McMahon was willing to pay Luke Harper even more cash just so he couldn't go elsewhere. Specifically, he wanted to keep Brodie from joining AEW (even though it was only a matter of time).

Brodie's wife said, 'f*ck that sh*t' and told her husband he needed to get out there, wrestle and have some fun again. As tempting as it was to rake in moolah and stay at home with her and kids instead of going out on the road, she could see that her hubby was frustrated beyond belief.

He was like a caged animal that needed to be unleashed.
