In a point that was particularly surprising to me, Robinson tells Jericho that he also works as part of the ring crew for World Wrestling Entertainment. In many ways, it is here that Robinson's genuine love for professional wrestling really shines through. Here is a guy that loves and respects the business with all he has, and has been rewarded for it.

A typical day on ring crew starts at 8am and doesn't end until 1am. It is Robinson's insights into the putting up of the ring that provoke the most interest, as he goes into detail about the ring set up and the various bits and pieces that keep it together. Did you know that 26 2x10 pieces of wood sit below the canvas itself?

Robinson also scoffs at suggestions that the ring is soft or springy in any way whatsoever. Robinson has been a part of the WWE ring crew since 2002, and there's little chance of this changing any time soon.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
