10 Things We Learned From Charles Robinson On 'Talk Is Jericho'

2. Randy Savage Once Gave Him A Collapsed Lung

Robinson's failure to defeat Gorgeous George at Slamboree in 1999 led to Randy Savage being reinstated to World Championship Wrestling. The feud would continue on an episode of Monday Nitro, and the results would be disastrous for Little Naitch.

Little Naitch teamed up with Big Naitch on this occasion to go up against the team of Savage and Madusa. Those teams don't seem necessarily fair, but what do I know. The finish saw Savage put Robinson away with his patented flying elbow, but Robinson's lack of wrestling experience (not to mention his small size) meant he was in no position to take the elbow. He was essentially a flat pancake, and Savage came down with all of his weight on the referee.

As a result, Charles Robinson had a collapsed lung and missed four months of action. Strangely the hospital released him the next day and allowed him to fly home, something that someone with a collapsed lung surely should not do.

Also of interest is the fact that Chris Jericho never got to work with Randy Savage. Talk about dream matches.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
