10 Things We Learned From Cody Rhodes On Out Of Character

5. His Interesting Outlook On Wrestling Media

Think of this as an extension to that previous point.

Cody pointed out that "wrestling media isn’t the highest paid gig out there" when discussing Satin's online feuds with other writers like PWInsider's Mike Johnson and The Observer's Meltzer. "You all love this”, he tacked on. His host had no arguments about that.

In a classy moment, Rhodes noted that Dave Meltzer has said some “really wild” things about his father in the past. Then, he said that people change and he’s had several nice interactions with Meltzer in person since reading those too. He doesn't necessarily think comments made in the 1990s should define a person today.

Overall, Cody thinks the wrestling media bubble is a “divisive community”, but he's happy that people love pro wrestling so much they'll report on it. Again, it's rather refreshing to hear somebody so high up the grappling food chain go to bat for the media's right to express opinions.
