10 Things We Learned From Cody Rhodes On Out Of Character

2. Cody’s Real Thoughts On Being EVP

Balancing being an AEW EVP and also being "one of the boys" was nigh-on impossible for Rhodes. He struggled to look at the company's televised product and take himself out of the equation, which is why he regrets that World Title angle so much.

Cody wanted to be in the top spot, but he was also trying to juggle growth of the organisation on the business side. That stretched him much too thin, so much so that Rhodes believes it would've been better had he assumed a role like that later in life.

Doing so whilst actively wrestling? That was a conflict of interest.

Previously, Cody had said in other interviews that he didn't have the maturity to handle everything all at once. He didn't outright disagree with that on 'Out Of Character', but did tweak his thoughts to say that being "one of the boys" was never going to happen after a certain time working production/meetings.
