Bagwell joined the WWF following WCW's buyout in 2001, but he was only in the promotion for a short spell. He'd work just two matches for Vince McMahon, both against Booker T - one on a house show, and another TV match on the 2 July edition of flagship show Raw.

The Raw match didn't go over well with higher-ups behind the scenes, and they blamed Buff. He was promptly released from his contract. His reaction? "Why would you get fired over a bad match?". That was the most latter day WCW response possible, to be fair.

McMahon had cut ties with Buff for more than just one Raw match though. He had a scuffle with Shane Helms during an earlier training session, and he was blamed for starting that too. The WWF was getting tired of drama following their new hire around, so they decided to cut him loose.

Side note: Bagwell needed staples in his head due to the fight with Helms. He coloured those black to match his hair before going live on Raw vs. Booker.
