Bagwell didn't take the WWF firing him well at all. He started leaning on drink and drugs to cope, and eventually ended up (accidentally) getting involved in some softcore pornography. The former nWo member didn't know what he was in for until he turned up for the questionable "modelling" gig.

Buff also signed up for a male escort site called "Cowboys For Angels". That resulted in him finding more drama - he fell in love with a woman who had paid thousands to spend a week with him, and Judy was rightly concerned by the dark path her son was going down.

He needed help, but wound up in hospital after crashing his jeep. According to the documentary, a plate in Buff's neck from a prior surgery actually saved his life that day. Everybody could see that Marcus was falling to pieces though, and something had to give.

Unfortunately, it took more tragedy to change Bagwell's ways.
