10 Things We Learned From Dark Side Of The Ring: Marty Jannetty

2. Marty’s Million Dollar Claim

Despite lobbing pointy things at a picture of his face for years, Shawn offered the hand of friendship again to Marty in 2005. Jannetty was plucked from obscurity as an olive branch from a born again Michaels, and the pair reunited on-screen as The Rockers for a match vs. La Résistance.

Marty says WWE offered him a one million dollar contract following that one-off reunion bout, which sounds just a little far-fetched. Jannetty hadn't been doing much of anything in '05 before reuniting with Shawn, but the figure offered didn't matter anyway.

He got into trouble with the police all over again, and WWE whipped whatever deal they were offering off the table. They couldn't be bothered dealing with more Jannetty headaches after suffering through them in the 1990s, and that was very much that.

Remember what Karen Walker said about "99%" of stuff Marty comes away with being nonsense? Yeah, this million dollar claim probably feeds into that.
