3. The Grim Legal Aftermath

The doc doesn't go into too much detail on any settlements between Martha Hart and WWE, but it does talk about the wrongful death lawsuit she logged against Vince McMahon and his company. There's even some footage of McMahon in court, and news that he tried to move the case to Connecticut because there were no punitive damages served in that state.

It's a whirlwind of legal terminology and more depression for Martha.

She told VICE that some of the Hart family were supportive of her case against the company. Others? Not so much, and a few even stole legal documents from her to give to the defence. That, she says, was heartbreaking. All Martha wanted was answers. Money wasn't her motivation - Owen's memory was.

It's plain to see how big an effect all this courtroom drama had on the family as a whole. They went on to set up The Owen Hart Foundation in his memory, and use fundraising efforts to help others. That's the legacy Martha wanted for her husband.
