3. Vince McMahon's Pre-SummerSlam '92 Annoyance
At SummerSlam 1992, Hawk was visibly under the influence of drugs and could barely perform. Animal told VICE how his partner ticked Vince McMahon off earlier in the day and unintentionally accelerated his hasty departure from the biggest company in the biz.
During a mid-afternoon run through of LOD's match with Money Inc, Hawk repeatedly interrupted McMahon's speech with ideas of his own, and the boss wasn't happy. He was less thrilled that his tag-team star appeared to be hammered on placidyls, and was incensed when Hawk no-showed a follow-up TV taping in Hershey, Pennsylvania and called Vince's secretary to let him know he was quitting.
Animal decided there and then that he sick of going to bat for Hawk.
He also wasn't happy when Hawk jumped to Japan and started a Road Warriors spin off with Kensuke Sasaki; Animal had wanted to stay in the WWF, finish up all the remaining dates in their contracts and leave on good terms. Hawk didn't.
