10 Things We Learned From Eric Bischoff's Podcast On Returning To WWE

4. Where The “Eric Is In Catering” Narrative Came From

Dave Meltzer isn't on Eric Bischoff's Christmas card list.

Anyone who listens to '83 Weeks' regularly will know Bisch doesn't have time for the Wrestling Observer chief at all. In fairness, he did point out a discrepancy in how Dave reports things about certain people on the pod. Meltzer repeatedly wrote that Eric spent ample time in WWE catering during his recent run, thus inferring that he was there for an easy ride or out of his depth.

That infuriated Bischoff. He pointed out that others, including Paul Heyman, spent more time in catering than Eric. Then, he explained why some higher-ups choose to do that in the first place. When they arrived at most arenas, guys like Eric and Paul found they didn't have a dedicated office space to work with (the exception was in larger venues like MSG).

So, they had to find a quiet corner with WiFi signal and go from there. Bischoff and Heyman often chose to hit catering before it opened 'cause it was quiet, spacious and they knew it'd be a hub for staff and talent by mid-afternoon.

He has no time for Meltzer's narrative.
