10 Things We Learned From Eric Bischoff's Podcast On Returning To WWE

3. What He’d Do Over Again

One of the best parts of the podcast came when Conrad asked Eric if he had any regrets about his recent WWE run, or if there was anything in particular he'd change if he had the chance. As it turns out, there were a few things Bischoff would like to "do over".

Firstly, he wishes he'd been able to manage his expectations. Not financially, but personally about the role presented to him. Secondly, he wishes he'd maybe been more social; Eric isn't shy, but he's "overly respectful" around people he doesn't really know and doesn't want to bother them if they're busy. That can come across as aloof to some.

If McMahon was looking for someone super-assertive and aggressive, then he certainly didn't get that.

There were also issues with the scale of WWE. It shocked Bischoff that the organisation was way bigger than it had been the first time he was there. The phrase he used was, "It's office hours somewhere", meaning he was always working. WWE was far more sophisticated and complex an operation than he'd ever experienced, and that includes working for Ted Turner in WCW.
