In his own words, James Ellsworth can't accept any bookings away from WWE until 12 February 2018. That's just the nature of WWE contracts; even for guys who wouldn't be much competition to the company elsewhere (like Ellsworth), the 90-day cooling off period is automatically triggered when they leave.

It'd be easy to feel sorry for James now his WWE dream has ended. Look at things another way however and you'll soon realise just how marketable he is post-WWE run. Ellsworth is a former WWE star, wrestled for the WWE Title and had a featured spot on TV for over a year.

Even knowing that didn't prepare James for the flurry of DM requests on his Twitter page.

The day after news broke on his WWE release, Ellsworth had 106 messages from promoters asking for his availability. Jericho was so stunned by this that he reminded Ellsworth again how much of a splash he had made in such a short time.
