22 October 2018 will forever be regarded as one of the most emotional days in WWE history. That night, live on Raw, Roman Reigns vacated the Universal Title and announced to the world that he was battling against leukaemia. Hours later, Dean Ambrose turned heel on Seth Rollins following a main event tag match.

That didn't sit well with him, and things worsened when Moxley was tasked with talking about Roman's battle with cancer in promos. Even bringing it up at all, especially in a negative light now he was heel, was something Jon found "distasteful". He didn't want to do it, and wishes he hadn't.

That's understandable, though it's also true that Roman must've been fine with the idea for WWE to go ahead and book it.

Burning his old Shield gear and focusing his hatred on Seth's character was enough for Mox. He didn't see the need to drag Reigns' very-real and very-distressing fight with life-threatening illness into the mix just to be controversial.
