1. How Kane Rationalised Unmasking

As mentioned during the intro, Austin and Kane didn't spend a lot of time talking about things post-Attitude era. One of the final big moments they focused on was when Kane unmasked in 2003. Austin wanted to know what Jacobs thought about this, and if it affected his enjoyment of playing the character.

It did. The unmasking affected Kane in a positive way.

He'd been making exaggerated facial expressions underneath the mask for years anyway, and now he'd be able to show them off to everyone. Further, unmasking meant he didn't have a shield to hide behind anymore. The gimmick's original "superhero overcoming his inadequacies" feel (a Vince McMahon quote) would be stripped bare.

Kane rationalised the lack of physical scars on his face by reasoning that the character had deep mental scars he was scared to show through expression. That's actually a really clever way of looking at it. It's just a shame WWE didn't explain this at the time.
