This one may shock those who enjoyed the bloody build up and further use of claret on January 4.

When Jericho and Omega agreed to wrestle one another and started making plans for their match, they didn't consider making it No Disqualification - or even using blood. In fact, they wanted a serious wrestling match like Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito.

It wasn't until both guys started feeling the intensity of duelling promos and realised how far they could push things that the No DQ idea popped into their minds. Jericho was also quick to point out that his age (47) had nothing to do with the stipulation; that's fair, because Y2J proved he could keep up with Omega athletically during the 35-minute match.

Reading fan reaction to their war of words prompted Jericho's vicious attack on Omega at the World Tag League show on December 11. Without saying it, both Jericho and Omega pretty much revealed that fan excitement was behind their decision to ramp up the violence and toss away the rulebook.
