6. Martha Thinks Owen Would’ve Gone Into Acting

Both Owen and Bret guest-starred in an episode of 'Honey, I Shrunk The Kids' in the mid-90s. That's when Owen was bitten by the acting bug and told his wife the he might pursue some other TV and film work when he finally managed to leave pro wrestling.

Martha reckons he definitely would've gone down that path. Jericho, meanwhile, isn't so sure.

He made a great point about a possible resurgence of Owen's interest in wrestling had he still been around when the likes of Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle and Jericho himself crashed into the WWF within 12 months of his death. Martha agreed that he probably would have loved to work with talented, passionate performers like that.

Picturing Owen vs. Angle, or Hart vs. Benoit, is enough to make one's mouth water. Whilst Owen wasn't having amazing matches towards the end of his life in 1999, he was surely still capable. Those guys would've helped bring the best out in him again and stopped him from moving into acting.
