10 Things We Learned From Matt Hardy On Talk Is Jericho

Vanguard 1 wouldn't have been on Dynamite had there been a crowd.

The empty arena episode would've played before thousands of fans under normal circumstances, and the building's management in Rochester were worried about the safety of flying a drone indoors. AEW were powerless to change their minds, and that directly threatened Matt's debut segment.

It sounds so strange to say, but Vanguard 1 is such an important part of Hardy's gimmick that it's probably for the best that he debuted in an empty arena. Without the image of that drone buzzing overhead and then landing in the ring, his debut wouldn't have had the same impact. Matt knows that, and he's thankful that they were able to use Vanguard.

This little nugget of info is one Jericho shared early in the podcast. He recalls hearing from AEW officials that safety laws prevented the use of drones in the building, which sucked. All's well that ends well; Vanguard 1 had 'his' moment too.
