Matt revealed that Vanguard 1 was supposed to fly back over to him towards the end of the broadcast. It didn't happen, and he's not entirely sure why. When the drone stayed put inside the ring, Hardy was forced to improvise and taunt The Inner Circle instead.

Jericho didn't have a clue that the drone was meant to drift back over to Matt. He and his stablemates were going to stand slack-jawed like they'd seen a ghost anyway, and they hadn't been told about Vanguard 1's return journey before heading through the curtain. Everyone just sorta' worked on the fly.

Both guys agreed that AEW's loose formatting is way better than WWE's overly-scripted style. Matt pointed out that the ability to improv and adapt to things that go wrong is part and parcel of the business. That's something a lot of WWE-taught workers can't really do.
