10 Things We Learned From Mick Foley On Stone Cold’s Broken Skull Sessions Podcast

2. He Puts TNA Over

Steve Austin Mick Foley Broken Skull Sessions
TNA

Well, this was unexpected.

There wasn't long to go in the 'Sessions' runtime when Austin suddenly brought up Mick's TNA run between 2008-2011. Foley seemed to see that supposed curveball coming (perhaps they cleared this before hitting the record button) and breezed through his answer.

He's still good friends with Dixie Carter, and he put the company over for giving guys like Samoa Joe a real leg up on the wrestling ladder. Being honest, there's still something weirdly cool about hearing guys talk TNA on WWE TV. The promotion is hardly competition for Vince, but it has this bizarre taboo vibe that stirs the senses.

Mick went on to say that he enjoyed his first year in TNA, but freely admits he lost faith in the operation by late-2009 or so. After that, he bounced around for a while without much interest before finally departing for some WWE house show appearances and an eventual Hall Of Fame induction.
