8. What He Once Told Vince McMahon

When McMahon did grab a quick word with Show, he told him that it was probably time to start thinking about slowing down. That, as Paul explained to Renée, was another slap in the face. It also reeked of hypocrisy, and the legend wasn't afraid to let his boss know it.

"Are you going to slow down? No? Well then don't tell me to slow down", he told Vince.

Later, Wight joked around with the gaffer by pointing out that he was booked in main events when he chain smoked and "drank Jack Daniels like it was water". Now, having cleaned up his diet and worked hard enough in the gym to develop abs in his 40s, he "couldn't even get a f*cking match".

Paul didn't tell listeners what McMahon's response was to that. One cannot imagine it was polite; or, maybe the boss took it in stride. The WWE chief is notoriously hard-headed, so it's perhaps unlikely he'd be rattled by anything Wight said.
