7. Wight Was Waiting To Be Berated

Most workers who make the leap from WWE to AEW speak of their surprise at the looseness of Tony Khan's system compared to the way Vinnie Mac runs things. Paul Wight is no different - he recalled fearing a right good b*llocking when he accidentally called the Revolution pay-per-view "Evolution".

It didn't come.

Nobody jumped down his throat for that backstage afterwards, which surprised him. Paul had become so used to McMahon's rants after making mistakes that he instantly assumed everyone managed their wrestlers the same way. At this point in the pod, Paul did a funny impression of Vince (“Nobody’s gonna’ buy the pay-per-view, and it’s all your fault!”).

Then, he put McMahon's high standards over too. Wight described his old boss as a "perfectionist" and a "fighter". Still, he has a bit of PTSD after years of getting roared at. That's why he's "flinched for them" when others in AEW f*ck up. Paul was sure they'd get roasted.
