10 Things We Learned From Paul Wight On Renée Paquette's Podcast

6. He Wants To Work With Darby Allin “So Bad”

Renée asked Paul who he'd most like to work with in AEW, and one name instantly crossed the giant's lips: Darby Allin. Why? Well, Paul "salivates" when he thinks about bumping the smaller man around and putting over his heart the same way he did for Rey Mysterio years ago.

He also agreed with Paquette's Jeff Hardy comparisons.

Wight does want to work with bigger guys like Lance Archer and Luchasaurus, of course, but he's most excited by the thought of putting Allin and other smaller workers like Marko Stunt (imagine) over when it matters. Darby got a lot of love during Renée's recent chat with fellow AEW newcomer Christian Cage too.

Paul reasoned that he'd need to be a monster heel for any matches with Allin, because that makes the most sense. Beyond actually wrestling, he's looking forward to helping the roster "figure out who they are", and he's keen to stop spot repetition from match-to-match on each card.

That is a problem in AEW, to be fair.
