10 Things We Learned From Rhea Ripley On Stephanie McMahon's WWE Show
7. Ripley Often Pulled Double Training Sessions
Literally doubling down. There's a nice moment early on in the episode that sees Steph and Rhea take a stroll into the main gym at WWE's Performance Center. Ripley spent a lot of time there during her formative years on the WWE roster. She told McMahon she pretty much trained at the PC every single day. Not content with single sessions, Rhea doubled up.
She'd finish up at the Performance Center then go to another gym elsewhere to do some more training afterwards. This insatiable need to better herself wasn't dangerous, or anything; Ripley wasn't over-training. She was doing everything in her power to make sure she was as prepared as possible for anything the market leader might throw at her. That surely turned some heads behind the scenes.
Explaining, Rhea said the following: "It was a very chaotic time in my life, ‘cause I just wanted to stay busy”. She had an excellent base physique to build on (athletic look since childhood, remember!), and now Ripley had every available tool to make the most of things. There was no way she was going to pass that up. Rhea made full use of everything the PC had to offer, then she went and did her own work elsewhere too.
Despite all of the chaos happening around her, the fledgling main roster star knew she could control certain aspects of her life. One of those was how hard she worked to improve as a wrestler and get stronger in the gym. That determination to succeed is admirable, and it's further proof that WWE made the right decision by head hunting Rhea when they did.
