10 Things We Learned From Ric Flair On Stone Cold’s Broken Skull Sessions Podcast

7. The Hilarious Moonsault Story

Ric's son Reid was a huge fan of Shawn Michaels, and that drove daddy nuts.

One day, Reid looked up at Flair and asked if he could do a moonsault. When Ric asked him what he was talking about, the boy revealed that he'd watched HBK do one on WWF TV. Incensed and feeling like his pride had taken a kick in the balls, Flair concocted a plan to perfect the backflip spot himself.

He went to his daughter Ashley's (WWE's very own Charlotte Flair) gymnastics coach and asked him if he could borrow a harness that'd let him learn to rotate like Michaels. Later, he felt foolish for taking Reid's happy remark about a hero to heart, and he ended up cancelling his plans to soar through the air.

Flair never said exactly when this happened, but he did say that he could see the business was changing thanks to hyper-athletic workers like Michaels in the early-to-mid-90s. Reid was born in 1988, so this would've had to happen somewhere in the mid-90s anyway.
