The American Airlines Arena in Dallas officially opened its doors on 17 July 2001. On 8 September that year, WWE ran their first ever event from the new building. Vince was keen to make it special and draw a big house, so he called up Austin and told him he'd be headlining opposite The Rock in a 'Mania X-Seven rematch.

Steve was pumped for that, especially because it was in Texas. Come bell time though, he and Rocky began fooling around like they had been in other matches on the house show loop. Austin got Rock in the corner and "whiffed" on some of his punches by a "good four inches". Then, Rocky reversed and did exactly the same.

When Austin then reversed again, he whispered, "Man, we better start hitting one another or we're gonna' kill this building". Both he and Jericho got a good giggle out of that. 'Stone Cold' and The Rock suddenly realised they probs shouldn't be going light in a fresh venue the company wanted to leave a mark on.

Sensational.
