10 Things We Learned From The WWE Cruiserweight Classic
8. You Can Never Tell Who The WWE Universe Will Root For
Going into the tournament, there was a certain assumption that Zack Sabre Jr. would be among the favourites as well as one of the most popular stars involved. The British submission expert has built a reputation as being one of the best technical wrestlers in the world, and going into the tournament he was riding some serious waves of momentum.
The tournament seemed to coincide with something of a change for Sabre however, as he wasn't greeted with the sort of adulation and praise many expected. Maybe it was just his style of wrestling, but the crowd seemed more than a little bit bored during his matches, up until the semi final at least.
The Full Sail University Universe also failed to read the script when getting behind Cedric Alexander against Kota Ibushi and Raul Mendoza in his loss to Brian Kendrick. It turns out assuming still isn't a good idea.
