Everything has changed now he's on the injured list.

There's a quiet confidence to Ciampa's words on the E&C podcast. He never once comes across as the arrogant character he does on social media, and there's an introspective quality to the things he brings up in the conversation. For example, his simple proclamation that the "movie's over".

Explaining himself, Tommaso revealed that he knew his run as a merch-fighting, fan-appreciation-battling heel was over as soon as he relinquished the NXT Title due to injury this past March. There, standing in-ring with a mournful expression, Ciampa gave fans a window to his soul, and he feels it's a turning point for his on screen persona when he returns.

He can come out of his shell now, stop being so protective over his intellectual property and have fun with the day-to-day ride of being a pro wrestler again. That is one of the more powerful messages he had to put out there during the interview.
