10 Things We Learned From Vince Russo On Stone Cold's Podcast
8. Stone Cold Doesn't Think The Attitude Era Is The Best Wrestling Era
Stone Cold Steve Austin may be the biggest star of the Attitude Era but it is by no means his favourite period in wrestling. He concurs it was the hottest period for sports entertainment and one of the greatest times of his life but admits he rarely watches it now and can barely remember most of it!
As a "pure wrestling" fan he prefers the mid-eighties as his favourite time and loves promotions like World Class Championship Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance and Mid South Power Pro.
He has often said in previous interviews that Ric Flair is his favourite wrestler of all time, even telling the Nature Boy on his own Podcast. Austin calls Ric Flair the total package of what a true pro-wrestler should be.
In contrast, the Attitude Era that Stone Cold was the poster boy for, in many ways, moved away from the period that he holds in such high esteem. He also states that the sexual overtones of the Attitude Era went a little too far for his tastes.
