10 Things We Learned From Week Two Of WWE's XFL

5. DC’s Coach Got A Funny Phone Call

This entry is a tad random, but it's too funny not to include.

DC Defenders head coach Pep Hamilton has become an early league highlight by constantly communicating with his team and the announcers when they chime in. This week, those commentators shared a little anecdote about the effect mic'd up play-calling has.

Hamilton received a hilarious phone call from his grandmother after last week's win over Seattle. She told him how much she loved his 'Boiler Maker' (a double reverse pass play that caught everyone, including the Dragons' defensive line) by surprise. It was only then that Pep realised his plays were previewed on ABC before they happened.

This could potentially be problematic as the weeks roll on. There's absolutely nothing to stop teams from scouting out plays on TV and feeding info back to coaches so they can adjust. Potentially problematic, sure, but funny nonetheless.
