Regal called Jericho "Noddy" several times during the first half of their interview. Thankfully, in the second act, he explained why that is. It's actually pretty simple, but fans of old retro UK rock bands will get a real kick out of it: Regal calls Jericho "Noddy" because of Slade.

Yes, as in the band who penned hits like, 'Merry Xmas Everybody'.

Jericho would sing lyrics from the group back when both wrestlers first met, and Slade just happens to be one of William's favourite bands ever. So, he affectionally started calling Chris "Noddy" in honour of the lead singer (Noddy Holder), and it just sort of stuck.

The Canadian is prone to coming up with quirky nicknames for mates himself. Remember "Stinko Malenko" for Dean in WCW? How about "Kirk Angel" for Kurt Angle during their time together in WWE? Regal's admission on 'Talk Is Jericho' settled the Noddy mystery once and for all though.
