10 Things We Learned From William Regal On Talk Is Jericho

5. What Vince McMahon Told Him Afterwards

Regal was stunned to see none other than Vince McMahon behind the curtain waiting on the pair. He told Jericho that he “ didn’t even know [Vince] watched Superstars!”. The boss didn't make a habit of it, probably, but WWE were in the UK and he was in the house anyway.

Backstage, McMahon shook the duo's hands, then pulled Regal aside when Bryan walked off. He thanked William for a “proper good old-fashioned wrestling match”, then said Bryan “would make a proper villain” someday soon. The amazing thing here is that Vince is always cast as somebody who doesn’t appreciate wrestling.

He 100% did that evening.

Regal isn't even sure if Danielson knows Vince said that to this day. Hopefully, Bryan listens to Talk Is Jericho (or, ahem, reads this article!) and learns what his old boss thought. That one match with Regal led to Bryan's run as a heel in 2012, which is insane to think about now.
