10 Things We Learned From WWE 24: Batista

Money in WWE development wouldn't have been great. Batista doesn't go into details on that in the documentary, but he does say that things started to get serious when he finally signed that full-time contract and got promoted to the main roster. That's when he got his first proper WWE payslip.

He didn't have a bank account to pay it into.

Once the pride of receiving a healthy sum of cash wore off, Batista realised that he didn't really know what to do with a cheque. Eventually, he found out he could take the thing to a "cheque cashing place" and recoup the money from it. It's genuinely strange to learn that someone who had the world at his feet was so badly organised outside the ring.

Batista had come from a street background that favoured physical cash over opening an account. So, he never got one, and he wouldn't get one until he started earning some serious moolah. Dave admits that whole period is a bit of a blur.
