10 Things We Learned From WWE In 2016

8. The Miz Has Another Main-Event Run In Him

Heading into 2016, The Miz's last successful run seemed like a distant memory. He was great in 2010, but once he won the WWE World Championship, he was booked horrendously. From there, he was part of a tag team with R-Truth that was squashed before it could go anywhere, suffered through an awful babyface run, and was outdone by his stunt double.

For those reasons, fans groaned when he ended Zack Ryder's Intercontinental Title reign just one day after Long Island Iced Z won the belt at WrestleMania 32. It looked like a potentially interesting push was being sacrificed to go back to the status quo. Throughout the year, though, The Miz has proven himself time after time - he's competed in exciting matches, carried himself like a star, and generally done his absolute best work in years.

So what's left for the star? Could he possibly make a run at the WWE World Championship in 2017? Let's just say that if he could make a feud with Dolph Ziggler work, then the sky's the limit. The Miz as WWE World Champ doesn't sound nearly as far-fetched as it did twelve months ago.
