10 Things We Learned From WWE SmackDown Live! (May 2)

5. The Fashion Files

Jinder Mahal hasn't been the only recipient of a WWE insta-push on SmackDown Live!, with Tyler Breeze and Fandango gaining similarly sudden elevation to title contention with a 'Beat The Clock' victory on last week's episode.

Individually and as a duo, Breezango have been hilarious in their limited roles as the 'Fashion Police', with their sidesplitting non sequiturs routinely making up for their shoddy treatment in-ring and an endless stream of defeats they've been forced to endure.

Their resilience appears to have paid off if this week's 'Fashion Files' vignette was an indication of creative input into the duo as they prepare for their Backlash tag team title match with The Usos.

Positioned as actual police officers, the skit paid tribute to the cliched tropes of television cop drama 'Law and Order' with throwaway gags buried in the dialogue and visual presentation that leaves the segment rife for re-watch.

Background imagery featuring performers past and present (with sweet attention paid to The Big Boss Man on what would have been Ray Traylor's 54th birthday) and a killer 'Jey-walking' gag helped deepen a growing relationship between the audience and the deluded duo. Their title contest in 'The Old Windy Apple' looks set to be a stylish affair.
