10 Things We Need To See At WrestleMania 33
5. Cruiserweight Title Match On The Main Card
One aspect of WWE programming that’s been somewhat rejuvenated as of late is the Cruiserweight division over on Raw.
After an awesome title match at Fastlane between Jack Gallagher and Neville, the next night on Raw saw Austin Aries make a major statement in jumping the champion and seemingly throwing his name into the mix for a title shot at WrestleMania.
After fan interest had been wavering, pretty much since the division’s inception last year, the purple brand is now on the cusp of blowing up and becoming the kind of addition to the overall product that many had hoped it would be in the first place.
As such, it’s important not to ease off on the accelerator. In short, that means giving the Cruiserweight Championship match the kind of platform it deserves—a spot on the main WrestleMania card, as opposed to being relegated to the pre-show.
Even having to make the case for a title match to be afforded a shot on the main show is a fairly sorry situation to be in, but on the bright side at least it looks like a case that the Cruiserweights are capable of winning.
