10 Things Wrestling Fans Want For Christmas

4. A Fresh Product

In previous articles, I've suggested 9 Vital Ways to Improve RAW as well as 9 Ways to Save SmackDown. Both television shows are the longest running shows in WWE history, and provide the most action and storyline developments for television audiences, but each show is looking a bit long in the tooth. The name alone "SmackDown" screams of something from a generation ago, and Monday Night RAW hasn't been upgraded in years. The ratings prove it: fans yearn for something fresh. Whether that means borrowing techniques from a competitor like Lucha Underground, a skill Vince has mastered in the past, or simply coming up with new ideas internally, the WWE needs to change. The company needs to adapt and progress with the time. Programs like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and The Walking Dead have shown the demand for a well-written, deeply detailed series of compelling television programs. Like it or not, this is the standard to which any and all television shows will now be graded and for now, WWE is not keeping up. The WWE has made progress by launching the WWE Network, and for this, the company should be commended. For the less glamorous yet equally important content provided on their USA Network hosted shows, the progress is stagnant and television audiences of 2016 would do well to see a change.

A former stuntman for Paramount Pictures, Matt enjoys sports, water skiing, driving fast, the beach, professional wrestling, technology, and scotch. At the same time, whenever possible. Having attended many famous (and infamous) shows including WrestleMania XV, In Your House: Mind Games, and the 1995 King of the Ring, Matt has been a lifelong professional sports and wrestling fan. Matt's been mentioned in numerous wrestling podcasts including the Steve Austin Show: Unleashed, Talk Is Jericho, and Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard. As a former countywide performer, Matt has been referred to as Mr. 300 for his amazing accomplishments in the world of amateur bowling. He is also the only man on record to have pitched back-to-back no hitters in the Veterans Stadium Wiffle Ball League of 2003.
