10 Things Wrestling Fans Want For Christmas

2. Superstars To Return

Throughout the history of WWE, there always seems to be an individual, or individuals, whom left the company that the fans are dying to see return. Whether it was The Ultimate Warrior in the early 90s, The Rock and Stone Cold in the mid-2000s, or CM Punk today, returning WWE superstars are often wanted more than anything else. Unfortunately, many superstars aren't truly appreciated by the fans, or often the WWE itself, until they are gone. Currently, the two biggest superstars of the past 15 years are off the road. John Cena and Randy Orton are wrestlers who, despite their immense talent and success, aren't likely to be perceived as "missed" quite yet. Their oversaturation and stale nature has painted these two men with a brush that the WWE fans are tired of seeing. The breaks will serve their characters well. It's the other superstars, the former talents whose returns are not inevitable, that would garner the most attention. Fans want the likes of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. The buzz and ratings boost would likely come with an Austin in-ring return, or Goldberg, or Shane McMahon. The long-term success will be determined like it always is and that is by the quality of the writing and stories that will be told. But even if just for the short-term, the re-emergence of superstars that fans thought they may have seen the last of is a gift that always delivers.
