10 Things WWE Actually Got Right In 2020

7. Soft-Splitting New Day

WWE's 2020 Draft was terrible, but it did have one hidden positive: New Day's soft split.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods strolled off to Raw as a tag-team, and Big E remained on SmackDown as a solo artist. Nobody was left with any doubts about what the main objective was here - it's now E's time to stand on his own two feet and carve out a singles run away from the hip-gyrating, pancake-throwing New Day nest.

Note the word "soft" though. This wasn't a definitive break up, and the group didn't turn their backs on one another. E is still donning New Day colours on SmackDown, and the trio are very much still on screen (as well as real-life) friends. Don't expect that to change unless WWE suddenly fancy turning E heel.

The long and short of this is that WWE can come back to New Day whenever they please in the future. For example, Kofi and Xavier could rush out to celebrate with E if he bags a championship at WrestleMania. Or, they could team up as a one off come next summer.
