Every bit of in-ring action this week was set against a stunning backdrop. The new stages for Raw and SmackDown were distinctive and beautiful. Both shows looked like a big deal but both had a different look which will accentuate the brand separation following the upcoming draft. Plus there was pyro, finally!

Meanwhile NXT has had a slight visual overhaul to compete with its new TV rival on TNT but continues to look intimate and cool.

It was the sound as well as the vision that impressed this week. SmackDown’s new AC/DC theme was an excellent choice. It gave the show a big time feel that will hopefully appeal to casual fans more than the usual generic metal.

Even a small detail like the Then, Now, Forever idents getting a new audio sting at the top of the show managed to help make things sound fresh.
