10 Things WWE Are Struggling To Get Over Right Now
6. Titus Worldwide
Placing Titus O'Neil in a managerial role was a good idea. The former Prime Time Player was never a particularly exciting wrestler, and at 40 years old, he wasn't exactly going to get any better. Despite this, he has always been relatively charismatic, and the company are clearly fond of him, given how prominently O'Neil features in their PR campaigns.
With all that said, the company have completely failed to get his act over, and it extends to both of his clients. Titus was initially paired with the listless Apollo Crews, but the former Uhaa Nation benefited little from their initial pairing, and lost his feud with Kalisto shortly after becoming part of the 'Titus Brand.'
Akira Tozawa came on board a few weeks later, which was a curious move, as the Japanese cruiserweight was one of only a few 205 Live wrestlers who was actually getting over on his own. 'Titus Brand' became 'Titus Worldwide,' and while Tozawa won the Cruiserweight Championship under O'Neil's management, he held the belt for just six days. Like Crews, his popularity has failed to increase with Titus by his side, and while this gimmick has had some fun moments, it isn't connecting with the audience.
