10 Things WWE Did Wrong In 2014

7. Having Daniel Bryan Face Kane On His First Title Defense After Wrestlemania 30

It was the culmination of a nine-month struggle for Daniel Bryan to finally have the Wrestlemania moment that he deserved. It all started at Summerslam when Triple H turned into a heel authority figure, pedigreed Bryan, and allowed Randy Orton to cash in the Money In The Bank contract. He fought tooth and nail not only to get back in the title picture, but to get back at Triple H himself. After two victories at Wrestlemania 30, he accomplished both. After this amazing journey (that was even a special on the WWE Network), who was in line for Bryan to face in his first title defense? It was Kane. Now this is absolutely not anything against Glen Jacobs, but he is just not a main event player any more. We had one of the greatest Wrestlemania moments in history, and it should have been followed up with a better championship match. Obviously CM Punk comes to mind, and so do other wrestlers such as Batista or Randy Orton. Maybe even Cesaro after winning the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. While it was an entertaining match that went over 26 minutes, no one believed for one second that Kane would take the title, and this booking was one thing that the WWE did wrong in 2014.
